John Toryusen Director of Southwark Catholic Youth Service and St Vincent´s Centre
John has been Director of Southwark Catholic Youth Service and St. Vincent's Residential Youth Centre, Whitstable since 2003. His role includes strategic management, training, finance, policy, support for volunteers and staff, and the coordinating of events. John is often kept busy staying one step ahead of the centre's peer ministry team.
John is originally from Derby, where he worked as a volunteer youth worker in a parish and then as a volunteer at the Briars Residential Youth Centre. Since qualifying in youth and community work John worked in Nottingham and Birmingham Dioceses in various capacities, before joining the Archdiocese of Southwark as their parish development worker.
John, his wife and children live in Whitstable, Kent and are part of the community based at St. Vincent's Centre.
